Let this one poem
whisper to the dust and ice
a few words from home.

The serpentine ridge
winds through a color I know
a familiar path.

I see in this dust
the last sand dune we played in
long-forgotten beach.

In this burnt palettte
everything warms to the eye
the coldest place thaws.
